KAGHAN: The breathtaking landscapes of Kaghan Valley drew an extraordinary number of visitors during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, as more than 128,000 local and foreign tourists traveled to the popular northern destination over a three-day period.
According to figures released by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, a total of 128,862 tourists visited the valley during the holiday season, marking one of the busiest tourism periods witnessed in recent years.
The valley’s cool climate and spectacular scenery proved to be a major attraction for travelers seeking an escape from the summer heat. Visitors were captivated by the region’s snow-covered peaks, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, lush green landscapes, and the flowing waters of the Kunhar River.
Major tourist attractions throughout Kaghan remained crowded as families, adventure seekers, and nature enthusiasts explored the valley and participated in recreational activities. Sightseeing, photography, and outdoor adventures remained among the most popular pursuits during the holiday break.
To manage the heavy influx of tourists, the Kaghan Development Authority deployed personnel at key locations and along major routes. Officials assisted visitors with guidance, traffic control, and information services aimed at ensuring a safe and convenient travel experience.
Tourism authorities welcomed the record turnout, describing it as a strong indicator of the growing appeal of northern Pakistan as a travel destination. The surge in visitor numbers also provided a significant boost to the local economy, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and small businesses across the valley.
The latest tourism figures highlight the increasing popularity of Kaghan Valley, reinforcing its status as one of Pakistan’s most sought-after destinations for domestic and international travelers.
