A third-grade student allegedly abducted from Islamabad’s Humak area has been recovered by Jhang police, while her family accuses local police of delaying legal action and failing to register an abduction case.
A third-grade schoolgirl who was reportedly abducted from Chak Mohri in the jurisdiction of Humak Police Station, Islamabad, has been recovered by police in Jhang, according to claims made by the child’s family.
The family says the girl was safely recovered by Sadar Jhang Police, who also took the alleged kidnappers into custody. However, they allege that Humak Police had failed to recover the child despite the passage of time.
According to the child’s father, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Humak Police Station has not yet registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) regarding the alleged abduction. He further claimed that he was repeatedly told police resources were occupied with Muharram security duties and that action would be taken afterward.
Frustrated by the alleged delay, the father has appealed to the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations to intervene, ensure a transparent investigation, and hold those responsible accountable.
