Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video to prove he is alive after viral social media posts falsely claimed he was killed in an Iranian missile attack. In the video, Netanyahu is seen in a café taking a coffee while speaking in Hebrew.
Addressing the rumors, he said, “I died over coffee,” dismissing the false reports and expressing pride in how citizens are handling current challenges. To further prove his identity, Netanyahu raised both hands to show all ten fingers, countering a manipulated viral clip that had falsely depicted one of his hands with six fingers.
He advised Israeli citizens to go outside for fresh air but remain near shelters for safety. Netanyahu’s office previously labeled the reports of his death as false and confirmed that the Prime Minister is safe.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard reportedly threatened Netanyahu stating that if he is alive they will pursue him. They claimed that the sounds of sirens in Israel signal their success and warned that Israeli forces are under pressure.
The incident highlights the dangers of misinformation on social media during periods of heightened tensions especially amid escalating threats between Iran and Israel.
