Security forces intensify border operations, successfully destroying militant stronghold while ongoing anti-drone measures protect Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
ISLAMABAD/CHITRAL: Pakistan’s security forces have intensified Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, targeting militant positions along the Pak-Afghan border, with the Badani post in Chitral completely destroyed, according to security sources.
Officials said the Pakistan Army executed a coordinated strike against positions reportedly used by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and allied Taliban elements. The operation employed a combination of small and heavy weapons, along with quadcopters and ground-based systems, ensuring the complete destruction of the post. Sources added that militants linked to the Afghan Taliban and “Fitna al-Khawarij” retreated on multiple fronts following the strike.
Authorities emphasized that Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq is ongoing and will continue until all operational objectives are achieved. The escalation comes shortly after Pakistan’s security forces shot down two drones over Islamabad and Rawalpindi, confirmed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan. The drones were associated with militants described as Fitna al-Khawarij and were neutralized using modern anti-drone technology. Only minor debris-related damage was reported, with no casualties or critical infrastructure affected.
Police earlier reported a drone sighting in Islamabad’s Sector I-9, prompting temporary restrictions while authorities assessed the threat.
The developments highlight Pakistan’s continued focus on securing its border regions and neutralizing militant threats along the Pak-Afghan frontier.
