High-level meetings in Tehran highlight Pakistan’s push for dialogue, de-escalation, and long-term regional stability
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir concluded a three-day official visit to Iran, accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a senior delegation, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir met Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and held separate discussions with key leadership, including Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Major General Ali Abdollahi, Commander of Khatam ul Anbiya Headquarters.
The meetings focused on enhancing regional peace and stability amid evolving geopolitical dynamics. Both sides exchanged views on the broader security environment, ongoing diplomatic initiatives, and potential collaborative strategies aimed at ensuring long-term peace across the region.
Field Marshal Munir emphasized the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful resolution of disputes through sustained diplomatic engagement. He reiterated Pakistan’s position that negotiated settlements remain the most viable path toward resolving ongoing conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
The army chief also conveyed appreciation for the hospitality extended by Iranian leadership and the people of Iran. He delivered goodwill messages from Pakistan’s president, prime minister, and citizens, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening historic and brotherly relations with Tehran.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic outreach and its stated commitment to promoting peace, stability, and economic prosperity in the region through constructive engagement and mutual cooperation.
