KARACHI: Pakistan women’s national cricket team delivered another dominant performance against Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team, securing a comprehensive 67-run victory in the second T20I at the National Bank Stadium and clinching the three-match series 2-0 with one match still remaining.
Pakistan produced a strong all-round display under lights, recovering from early setbacks with the bat before dismantling Zimbabwe’s batting lineup through disciplined bowling and sharp fielding.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan posted an impressive 170-4 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks largely to a sensational unbeaten innings from rising batter Eyman Fatima, who anchored the innings with maturity and aggression.
The home side faced early trouble as Ayesha Zafar and Gull Feroza departed cheaply inside the powerplay, leaving Pakistan struggling at 35-2. The pressure intensified when Iram Javed was dismissed for just five runs in the seventh over, putting Zimbabwe briefly in control.
However, Eyman Fatima turned the momentum completely in Pakistan’s favor. She first stitched together a crucial 46-run partnership with Muneeba Ali, who contributed a composed 36 off 33 deliveries. The pair stabilized the innings before Pakistan accelerated aggressively in the final overs.
Eyman then combined with Nataliya Pervaiz for a rapid 78-run partnership off only 40 balls, punishing Zimbabwe’s bowlers across the ground. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 79 from just 43 deliveries, smashing 10 boundaries and four towering sixes in a match-winning knock. Nataliya added valuable late momentum with a brisk 24 off 19 balls.
Zimbabwe’s bowling attack struggled to contain Pakistan’s late surge, although Precious Marange, Lindokuhle Mabhero and Michelle Mavunga managed to claim one wicket each.
Chasing 171 for victory, Zimbabwe never looked comfortable against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling unit. Fatima Sana and Tuba Hasan struck early inside the powerplay to remove key batters and immediately push the visitors onto the defensive.
The pressure continued throughout the innings as Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to build meaningful partnerships. Captain Nomvelo Sibanda remained unbeaten on 18, but her effort was not enough to prevent another heavy defeat.
Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu led Pakistan’s bowling attack with two wickets as the hosts restricted Zimbabwe to 103-8 in 20 overs, sealing an emphatic series-clinching victory in Karachi.
The convincing triumph further highlights Pakistan women’s growing confidence and depth in the T20 format as the team continues preparations for upcoming international assignments.
