Diesel Price Slashed by Rs. 32 Per Liter as PM Shehbaz Highlights Economic Gains

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Islamabad: PM Shehbaz Highlights Economic Developments

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday highlighted a series of economic and investment-related developments, including a Rs. 32 per liter reduction in the price of diesel, an 18% increase in Pakistan’s IT exports and the formal opening of Google’s office in the country.

Addressing the federal Cabinet meeting, the prime minister said the reduction in diesel prices was achieved through efforts by the Ministry of Petroleum. The cut is expected to provide relief to consumers and reduce pressure on transportation and other sectors that are directly affected by fuel costs.

Shehbaz Sharif also pointed to the performance of Pakistan’s technology sector, saying IT exports recorded a notable 18% increase during July 2026. The growth highlights the expanding role of the IT industry in Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen exports and generate foreign exchange.

The prime minister further said that following a meeting with a delegation from Google, the company’s office in Pakistan had now been formally inaugurated. The development could support greater engagement between Pakistan’s technology sector and one of the world’s leading technology companies.

Beyond economic matters, Shehbaz Sharif urged the opposition to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue. He said political differences should be addressed through mutual discussion so that economic development and democracy in Pakistan can be further strengthened.
