Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, stated that violence will not be tolerated in Pakistan and religious sentiments must not be used to incite unrest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he met Shia scholars in Rawalpindi where discussions were held on national security and inter-provincial harmony. He emphasized that religious leaders play a key role in promoting unity, tolerance, and national cohesion, and urged them to counter misinformation and sectarian narratives.
He also warned that Afghan soil must not be used for terrorism against Pakistan, adding that any such threats will be dealt with decisively. Religious scholars condemned violence and expressed support for security institutions. The Field Marshal reaffirmed commitment to eliminating terrorism under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.
