Rapid police action and CCTV evidence led to the arrest of three suspects after a young girl’s disappearance sparked outrage in Sargodha.
A tragic incident in Sargodha has sparked public anger and renewed concerns about child safety after a young girl, identified as Muntaha, was found dead following her disappearance on Tuesday morning.
According to initial reports, the child left her home between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to purchase groceries from a store located in Block 8 of Sargodha city. When she failed to return after nearly two hours, her family launched a search and reviewed CCTV footage from nearby businesses.
The footage reportedly showed Muntaha entering a shop but did not capture her leaving the premises. Acting on the evidence, Sargodha Police conducted a raid at the store.
During the operation, investigators allegedly discovered evidence suggesting that multiple individuals present at the location had taken the child to a room above the shop. Police sources claim the girl was subjected to sexual assault and later killed after her cries drew attention. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
Officials believe the suspects may have planned to dispose of the body later in the night, but the alleged plan was disrupted due to CCTV footage and the swift response of law enforcement.
Senior police officials, including the District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha, visited the scene to oversee the investigation. According to police sources, three suspects have been arrested by Sargodha Police and CCD personnel, and a criminal case has been registered.
