An American news agency has reported that proposed negotiations with Iran include the possible dismantling of its nuclear and missile programs as part of a broader US backed framework. According to the report, the proposals were conveyed to Iran by two Pakistani officials and one Egyptian official who spoke to the agency.
A Pakistani official stated that a 15 point set of proposals had been delivered to Tehran. These proposals reportedly include easing sanctions on Iran in exchange for compliance with key conditions. However, they also suggest restrictions that include the termination of Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, along with provisions to ensure the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency is also said to be part of the plan, alongside potential civilian nuclear cooperation between Iran and the United States.
An Egyptian official added that the proposal is designed as a comprehensive agreement toward a ceasefire and includes restrictions on Iran’s support for armed groups in the region. Meanwhile, reports suggest that talks between Iranian and US officials could take place in Islamabad, with Pakistan and Turkey being considered as possible facilitators.
Separately, Pakistani officials reaffirmed their country’s commitment to the defense and security of Saudi Arabia and emphasized ongoing diplomatic efforts to support regional stability and conflict resolution.
