A US based think tank has raised serious concerns about the policies of the Afghan Taliban warning that their governance approach is emerging as a growing challenge to global security. In its latest report the organization stated that alleged support for extremist elements and strict rule could threaten not only Afghanistan but also the wider international community.
According to the assessment the Taliban government has implemented restrictive laws that impact fundamental rights particularly affecting vulnerable groups. The report noted that these policies are creating uncertainty about Afghanistan’s future and weakening its legal and social structures.
The think tank also highlighted concerns about the Taliban’s reported ties with militant groups, including Al-Qaeda. It claimed that the leadership has shown limited willingness to take decisive action against such organizations raising alarms for regional and global security.
Another key issue is the lack of international recognition of the Taliban government, which continues to isolate Afghanistan diplomatically and economically. The report emphasized that without meaningful reforms including respect for human rights and action against militancy instability may deepen.
Experts stressed that Afghanistan’s stability is closely linked to global peace, urging careful international engagement alongside continued monitoring of the situation.
