FIFA Unveils Explosive 2026 World Cup Anthem as Shakira and Burna Boy Set the Internet on Fire

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Colombian pop superstar Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy have officially launched “Dai Dai,” the anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026, igniting excitement among football fans and music lovers worldwide.

The newly released track combines Latin pop energy with vibrant Afrobeats rhythms, creating a multilingual global anthem designed to reflect the diversity and spirit of the upcoming tournament. FIFA said the song pays tribute to several footballing nations, with Shakira mentioning countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands in one of the verses.

The anthem features alternating performances from Shakira and Burna Boy before the two artists unite in a powerful duet during the chorus. The blend of English lyrics with multilingual influences has already generated strong reactions online, with fans praising the collaboration as one of FIFA’s boldest musical projects in recent years.

The release of “Dai Dai” comes shortly after FIFA announced a star-studded halftime show for the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. The performance lineup includes Shakira, Madonna and global K-pop phenomenon BTS. The event’s musical direction has reportedly been curated by Chris Martin.

According to FIFA, the halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to improve children’s access to education and football opportunities around the world.

Shakira had teased the anthem days earlier through a promotional video filmed at the iconic Maracanã Stadium, where she was seen dancing on the pitch while previewing part of the song. The singer remains closely associated with FIFA after the massive success of “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the official anthem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which became one of the most recognized football songs ever released.

FIFA has increasingly collaborated with global music stars and brands to expand the entertainment appeal of the World Cup. Earlier this year, Coca-Cola released its own World Cup-inspired anthem featuring J Balvin, Travis Barker, Amber Mark and Steve Vai.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico during June and July, marking the first World Cup to feature 48 teams and multiple host nations on such a massive scale.
