Karachi Flyover Rescue: Traffic Police Save Man Hanging From Wires in Viral Video

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Traffic police in Karachi rescued a man stranded on overhead cables after he climbed a flyover barrier, with the incident captured on video and widely shared on social media.

KARACHI: Traffic police rescued a man on Thursday after he climbed a safety barrier on the Liaquatabad flyover and became stranded on overhead cables above a busy roadway, officials said.

Police said the man, believed to be under the influence of drugs, crossed restricted fencing during peak traffic hours, causing alarm among motorists and pedestrians. Witnesses reported that the man lost balance and became trapped while attempting to move across the cables.

A traffic police officer responded immediately and climbed onto the roof of a stationary bus to reach the elevated structure. Using careful positioning and coordination with colleagues on the ground, the officer secured the man and guided him back to safety, preventing what officials described as a potentially fatal fall.

The incident was recorded by several bystanders and quickly circulated on social media, where it drew widespread attention and praise for the officer’s quick response and bravery. Authorities later confirmed that the man was taken into custody and provided medical assistance at a nearby facility.

Police said an inquiry is underway to determine how the individual accessed the restricted area. Officials are also reviewing CCTV footage from the flyover and surrounding points to assess possible security lapses and whether additional protective barriers are required.

The incident has renewed public discussion on urban safety, infrastructure security, and the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals in Karachi’s densely populated transport network
