Security Convoy Targeted by Blast in Mastung, One Official Killed

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

A roadside explosive targeting a security convoy in Khad Kocha killed one official and injured six others, police said.

QUETTA: A security official was martyred and six others were injured Saturday when an explosive device targeted a security convoy in Khad Kocha, Mastung district, police said.

According to officials, the bomb had been planted near Gro in the Khad Kocha area along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway. The device was detonated as the security vehicles passed through the area, striking one of the convoy’s vehicles.

A senior police officer confirmed the death and injuries, adding that the remaining vehicles in the convoy were not affected by the explosion.

Following the blast, an exchange of fire continued in the area for some time. Police officials said the attackers fled after additional security personnel reached the scene.

The deceased official and the injured personnel were transported to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities later closed the highway at several points, disrupting traffic as security forces launched a search operation to locate those responsible for the attack.

The blast occurred a day after another explosion in the same area killed four labourers working in an apple orchard and injured three others. Medical officials said the victims in that incident had suffered visible splinter injuries.
